MANDALAY – MINGUN – MYAESWON – MANDALAY (2 DAY / 1 NIGHT TRIP)

Day 01: Mandalay MingunMyaeswon (B, L, D)


We start to leave from Mandalay at 08:00 by boat to Mingun then sightseeing at Mingun village. After that proceed to Myaeswon village to see dolphins there and arrive Myaeswon at about 17: 00. Myaeswon is 45 km far away to the north of Mandalay. It is a small village situated on the east bank of Ayeyarwaddy River. Nowadays it is famous for fishing with dolphin by their old method. First of all we can visit around the village and the way of life there. And visit to the Mawe Ann Taw (snake’s vomit) Pagoda which is built in 12th century. Overnight at the monastery or on board.

(The accommodation is a very simple and you have to sleep ob board, lower deck but there is no cabin, only hall and you have to sleep together. Or you can overnight at the village monastery. We bring some mattress, pillows, blankets and mosquito nets.)

Day 02: Myaeswon Mingun Mandalay (B, L)

Next day about 0630, take a canoe boat with fisherman along the river. Start to make a strange sound by teak strike tapping to boat side. You will see dolphins come closely to the boat and show their tails as vertically to stop the boat. Then they beaten with their tails to water surface then the fisherman throws his net quickly. After he getting fish, give some to the dolphins for commission. This is unique and fascinating to see their tactful work. After that go back to Mandalay. This is the only place where you can see dolphin in Myanmar. They are gray colour and 2.5 m long and good relationship with local fishermen. This traditional practice is found in Myanmar and Brazil only.
